Weekly Update, March 11, 2020

Dear 2B Families,

I hope this message finds you well!  I just wanted to send along a little update regarding homework, spelling, and the biography project with our recently updated school schedule.  Please see below for updated dates!

Important Tidbits:

Homework: In spelling, we will be focusing on the “oi” and “oy” phonogram sets through next week.  We have decided to extend the homework packet and spelling due dates.  The homework packet that was due on Thursday (March 12th) this week, will be due next Friday, March 20th. We will also be taking the “oi” and “oy” spelling test on March 20th!

Biography Report: I will be sending home the final draft poster with your child tomorrow, March 11th. This will be due Monday, March 23rd.

  • Presentations will be during the week of March 23rd-27th.
  • We have practiced research on ProQuest over the past couple weeks.
  • If you are able to help your child supplement the materials provided by checking books out a local library that would be helpful too!
  • Please let me know if you are struggling to find information and I might be able to help!

Thank you!

Warm regards,

Addison Borseth

My name is Melissa Morrier-Turk, I am a graduate of SMM (class of 1986) and have been a member of the parish community much of my life. I have a B.S. in Business with an emphasis in Human Resources from Central Washington University and have spent my 23 years working in this field, traveling all over the USA and Canada as an HR Director, as well as a corporate trainer. My husband Mike and I have two kids, our son will be a Junior at Archbishop Murphy High School and our daughter will be a 7th grader here at SMM. As a parent, I have been an active member of the SMM community, most recently wrapping up my role as the Parent Club President this year and V.P. last year. I have also been an active member of the auction for the past 8 years, along with numerous opportunities to volunteer in my children’s classrooms and through club activities. In my off time I enjoy running, cycling, hiking, anything outdoorsy really. I have absolutely loved working with and getting to know so many of the families here at SMM as a parent and am looking forward to getting to know you all better as part of your school community!
